Interesting facts of AIDS
Did you know that AIDS is a disease caused by the HIV virus turned out to come from monkeys. surprisingly the disease initially attacking the gay, so this ailment by scientists called GayRelated Immune Deficiency (GRID).
In July 1981, the New York Times reported an incidence of a rare form of cancer among gay men in New York and California, first referred to as the "gay cancer"; but medically known as Kaposi Sarcoma. About the same time, Emergency Rooms in New York City began to see anguh apparently healthy young men with presentation of fevers, such as flu symptoms and pneumonia called Pneumocystis. About a year later, at CDC (Central Control) link to disease of blood and coin the term AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). In the first year more than 1,600 cases were diagnosed with nearly 700 deaths.
Because of the number of fatalities soared in the fried, medical experts to find more important and lead to healing. In 1984, the Institut Pasteur of France discovered what he called their contracting the HIV virus, but it was not until a year later AS a scientist, Dr. Robert Gallo confirmed that HIV is the cause of AIDS.
After this discovery, the first HIV test approved in 1985. For several years the drugs to combat the virus developed as well as drugs to prevent infections that develop when the immune system damaged by HIV and AIDS. Until the end of 1987, there were confirmed AIDS cases 71.000, resulting in more than 40,000 deaths.
So where are we going today? Thanks to the ever-changing-a new series of anti-retroviral drugs and increased funds for medical care, AIDS-related deaths in the United States decreased. People are healthier and live longer. However, in other parts of the world, the AIDS epidemic rages on. Some estimate that 40 percent of people in sub-Saharan Africa sub-region are infected with HIV. Many of these people are unaware that they are infected, so in other infections, to add a spread of the disease. Another grim reminder of the epidemic is the number of African children orphaned by AIDS. Impasse is with children who have lost parents to AIDS, have no food, and no place to go. And with the money available is not expensive for drugs for HIV, the epidemic is expected to get far worse, with an estimated 20000000 infected over the next 5 years.
